Kaine Youth Collective Ambassadors
Kainé Youth Collective is central to our work with young people across Leicester. We are seeking a Youth Trustee who can champion youth voice, strengthen participation, and ensure the lived experiences of young people directly shape our programmes and direction.
Becoming an Ambassador for the KYC will give you the opportunity to work with group of likeminded people who are passionate about representing young people in the community and wants a direct impact on the young people of Leicester, Leicestershire and beyond.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Share your own experiences as a young person and support Kaine in their work of creating relevant and ambitious projects for young people by representing the wants and needs of young people to the Board.

Provide leadership within Kainé Youth Collective.

Recruit and maintain youth involvement across our initiatives.

Collaborate with the Programmes Trustee to embed youth insight in programme design.

Support delivery of youth-focused work and maintain relationships with past participants.

Attend Operations Committee and Board meetings.

Reviewing projects, programmes, and ways of working

Gathering structured feedback from young people

Co-planning events and initiatives
-
Feeding insights and recommendations directly to the Board

Actively involved in decision-making (not just consultation)
How ambassadors work in practice:

At least monthly, a minimum of 4 ambassadors attend 2 youth sessions (any setting: Million Hours, Girls Can, YYC, etc.)

This feedback is then:

Shared within KYC leadership

Reported to the Kainé Board

Ambassadors also liaise with project workers to ensure under-18 voices are represented

Review Projects, Programmes and Ways of working

Provide structured feedback from young people to the organisation

Co-plan events and initiatives

Be involved in decision-making, not just consultation

Purposeful planning/work sessions

Attend Leisure and social activities to build relationships and retention
